TRAINING: In order for the CERT Rodeo to be successful, committee members hope for at least 50 to 60 participants in attendance, preferably more. So far, including all CERT’s throughout the state, 12 individuals have signed up for the rodeo, 10 are from Goffstown CERT. Members are informed about rodeo details that will be in comparison to our own drill held last fall. The Govenor may attend this drill to hand out Rodeo medallions. All participants should receive a T-shirt, Medallion, and lunch. Every member should bring their gear to this rodeo. This RODEO will help NH determine how well an area is doing in basic training and what areas of the state need attention. FEMA holds a great interest in how this rodeo is run and may use it as a model for a possible regional rodeo in the future. There are 22 CERT teams throughout NH, which is estimated to have about 3800 to 4200 members as a whole. This Rodeo is being held in the month of Sept., because Sept., is Preparedness month. Because of hazardous materials, a member must be 18 years or older to attend.
