Severe Weather Preparedness - Potential Storm / Hurricane Sandy COURTESY of the NEW BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT - 26 October 2012: It may be early to predict how Hurricane Sandy is going to affect our area but it is definitely not too early to be preparing for the eventuality. The storm is on track to arrive into our area early next week. Here are a few things that you can take care of over the next couple of days to be prepared.

1. Stock up on some gas.

     a. If you have stored gas now is a good time to recycle it. Carefully transfer your stored gas into the gas  tanks of your cars. Newer gas contains ethanol and really causes havoc on smaller engines (like generators!). Larger engines in our vehicles can tolerate the older much better.  .....CONTINUE READING.....

GOFFSTOWN – The Fifth CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY, sponsored by the Goffstown Police Department is scheduled to begin on September 20th, 2012. Sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The Goffstown Police Department’s CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY is a ten week program designed to inform citizens about the role of this agency in our community. The program consists of both classroom and demonstration format with some limited hands on participation, if you so choose.

Upon your acceptance into the program, you can expect an informative session examining all the duties, functions and training of the Goffstown Police Department and its officers.

Upon completion of this course it is our hope that not only will you have a better understanding of our profession, but you will have located a particular area of interest where you may wish to explore further and perhaps contribute to your community by volunteering.

Should you wish further information regarding this program, or an application, please call the Goffstown Police Department at 497-4858, and speak with Sergeant Matthew Hozeny, or Lieutenant Pierre Pouliot.

Hepatitis C Clinics Postponed

Posted by Bill Wynne, Admin. on July 26, 2012 at 9:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Volunteers,

Due to logistical considerations, the State has postponed the Hepatitis C

Clinics scheduled at Exeter High School Saturday, July 28th-Tuesday, July

31st until further notice. Thank you for your quick response. In less than

24 hours we were able to mobilize hundreds of volunteers to help cover

shifts over four days. When we clarify the plan to reschedule the clinics

we will be in touch. Again, your willingness and readiness were impressive!

Samantha Brann, Volunteer Coordinator for the clinics, was overwhelmed with

the heartfelt and generous response of volunteers.

CERT assisted Goffstown PD with Active Shooter Drill

Posted by Bill Wynne, Admin. on June 18, 2012 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Goffstown CERT was invited to be actors for the Goffstown Police Department "Active Shooter Drill" this past Thursday as well as next Thursday located at the New Boston Air Force Tracking Station. CERT members took the role as victims; we let our true acting skills shine as well as seeing first hand on what goes on behind the scenes in an event like this. It was a GREAT learning experience for CERT as well as the GPD. Looking forward to next Thursday.
