Issued at: 4:52 AM EST 12/3/07, expires at: 1:00 PM EST 12/3/07 Winter storm warning now in effect until 2 pm est this afternoon, The winter storm warning is now in effect until 2 pm est this afternoon. Low pressure continues to rapidly develop near long island this morning and will continue to do so as it passes very close to cape cod early this afternoon. Occasional snow, heavy at times and occasionally mixed with sleet and freezing rain, will continue through much of the morning, then taper off late this morning, ending during the afternoon.

Total snow and sleet accumulations will range between 4 and 8 inches
Issued at: 10:10 PM EST 12/2/07, expires at: 6:15 AM EST 12/3/07 Winter storm warning remains in effect until 11 am est monday, A winter storm warning remains in effect until 11 am est Monday. Precipitation will remain on the light side through midnight, most likely freezing drizzle, then an area of heavier precipitation moving east from western new york and pennsylvania will overspread the region after midnight. Most of the precipitation in central and western massachusetts will likely fall as freezing rain and sleet as warmer air aloft continues to move in. This will limit snowfall accumulations to an 2 to 4 inches but significant ice accumulations up to one half inch will be possible. In southern new hampshire, the colder air will hold on longer so more snow is expected. Snowfall accumulations in southern new hampshire are expected to average around 6 inches. The snow may mix with or briefly change to sleet and freezing rain late tonight so light icing is possible. The heaviest precipitation will taper off between 7 and 10 am, latest in southern new hampshire. This will obviously make travel quite treacherous, and there is a potential for power outages in western and central massachusetts if enough freezing rain occurs.

Issued at: 4:48 AM EDT 11/3/07, expires at: 1:00 PM EDT 11/3/07 Wind advisory now in effect from 2 pm this afternoon to midnight edt tonight, The wind advisory is now in effect from 2 pm this afternoon to midnight edt tonight. The advisory is for northeast connecticut, central massachusetts and hillsborough county in southern new hampshire. North to northeast winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph this afternoon, with gusts up to 50 mph possible. The highest winds will likely occur from mid afternoon through early evening. A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds this strong are capable of downing tree limbs and branches, possibly causing isolated power outages. With a lot of trees still retaining their leaves, whole trees could come down in localized areas. Driving can also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
